DISSOCIATION; What is it?

Dissociation is a complicated issue among people today. When an individual dissociates it's like their mind or personality splits into different compartments. One who is dissociated is disconnected from their own thoughts, memories, ideas, actions, surroundings, and even to their identity. A mild case example of dissociation is when you’re driving a vehicle and without thinking you know what turns to make and end up at your location without noticing much in that time period. It can kind of feel like lost time. This case happens almost every day to car drivers due to their familiarity of the drive. Another example would be when one loses a significant amount of time. It feels like they may have dementia. At one moment they were sitting on the couch and then to them the next moment the whole house is cleaned. This is due to the disconnection of one’s own actions and thoughts. One may become confused to who they are even. Of course, this is only in a severe case of dissociation, in which we'd then call it, Dissociate Identity Disorder. DID is when one one's personality splits into two or more different identities. These identities may know each other or some may not know each other. Every case of DID is different for everyone
